I Didn't Know You Could Sing

Your Price: $15.00

Frank and Edith are pillars of the church. Well, that is what they think anyway. You'll probably find them a bit hypocritical and vain, but you might see someone you know, or maybe even yourself. Humorous with a message, as Frank has decided to join the church choir because he can turn things around in the music at the church.  This is one of several Christian skits about Frank and Edith.

one couple. About 9 minutes.

Soup Of The Day

Your Price: $20.00

This skit or one act play, (good for VALENTINE'S DAY) is about marriage relationships. The scene takes place in a restaurant and there are 3 tables. The center table is back a ways and an older couple are sitting there observing the couples at the other tables. A young couple sit at one, and a middle aged couple with 2 teenagers at the other. Humorous arguments and bickering go on and the older couple discuss how alike or different they are from the other couples. Finally, they begin to tell each other how they could not have imagined being with anyone else for all these years. There is mention of the importance of making Christ the center of your marriage.

3 couples and 2 teens. About 15 minutes.

We Could Have Been At The Lake

Your Price: $15.00

Another skit about Frank and Edith. This one takes place in their car as they get ready to drive home from church. They just heard a sermon on tithing and they discuss their reactions to that subject. Of course, they believe that they are good givers, but their conversation gives away their ignorance of what God's word teaches, and their unwilling spirits to trust God with their finances. Humorous and convicting all at the same time.

one couple. About 9 minutes.

Missionaries Are Supposed To Suffer

Your Price: $15.00

This is another Frank and Edith skit that has them talking about a missionary that they just heard speak at their church. They discuss how important mission work is to them, and how they should support this particular missionary, because he gave such a good presentation. Of course, they come up with reasons not to, and talk themselves out of it completely. You will either laugh at their reasoning, or realize you do the same thing.

one couple. About 9 minutes.

Shopping For Baby Jesus

Your Price: $15.00

Frank and Edith are at it again! This time they are trying to keep out of the whole Christmas scene at church, but they get asked to do stuff anyway. They agree, but only because they don't want to look bad. Edith is supposed to find a baby Jesus for the manger scene, and Frank is to read something at the end of the program. What he reads is the truth of why Jesus came and for a second you think it got through to them both. But not these two... one beat later... they are right back on their own hypocritical soap box. We laugh at them because it rings so true, and sometimes it rings a little too close to home.

One couple. About 10 mins.

God's Grace For A Mother

Your Price: $10.00

In this Christian skit, Mom is having her devotions and asking God for grace to accomplish her tasks that she is called to do as a wife and mother.  Suddenly her husband appears interrupting her with questions and needs.  The teenage daughter enters and she needs to talk to her about a matter that involves some discipline.  Dad comes back with suggestions for a dinner party and asking her opinion about buying another car.  The daughter comes back in asking advice on how she should deal with her friend at school.  Clearly, the Mom has a full day ahead of her and is probably not shown as much respect as she deserves for all she does .

3 actors (One male, one female and one teenage female).  About 7-8 mins.
How To Make The Mrs. Happy

Your Price: $40.00

This is a comedy about marriage.  (or musical comedy if you wish)  Perfect for a Christian dinner theater or Valentine banquet.  The play centers around two best friends who live next door to each other and spend a lot of time together talking about their marriages and trying to think of ways to make them better.  The play turns into a slapstick comedy several times with falls, gags and surprises and even a pie in the face.  It might remind you of some of the old sitcoms of the 50's.  There are plenty of husband and wife squabbles that you may find hilarious, especially if it reminds you of yourself.  There is a tiny message at the end about love and feelings and what the difference is, as one of them expresses how love is from God and it involves a commitment.  But overall, there is not a strong spiritual message.  The play is mostly done for laughs and the two male leads have the largest parts by far.  There are places where songs could be added to make it a musical.  Some song suggestions have been made, but the songs are not included in the script.

5 major roles (2 males, 3 females)  A few males and females in very small roles and as extras. (only 3-5 with lines)
Should take a little over an hour, or 90 minutes if 4 or 5 songs are added.
Mom Was A Teenage Ninja

Your Price: $10.00

This is a humorous sketch about a daughter who learns about her parents' past secret lives.  The mother and daughter are working together on a wedding dress for someone when her friend calls to share his idea of 'getting to know your mother better' for Mother's Day.  She thinks she already knows all about her mom... but suddenly she is shocked when Mom begins to reveal the strangest things.  The stuff is pretty crazy (Rock band?  CIA?)  and all done for laughs as Dad and Mom seem the most normal people on earth.  Read the excerpt.  (Co-written with my good friend, Stu Kilgour)

2 females and one male (small part).  The daughter is mentioned in the script as being 18, but that can easily be changed to any age you need.  She should probably be at least a teenager.  Runs between 6 -7 minutes.
Now Who's Jealous?

Your Price: $10.00

This is a short sketch about a woman who is jealous of the way her husband was talking with another woman.  She accuses him of flirting and they have a little argument.   Might be what you are looking for if you want very short Christian skits.

One couple.  About 3 minutes.

This Is Coming At A Bad Time

Your Price: $15.00

This is the fifth Frank and Edith sketch.  This time, Frank is all worked up over the new building project at church.  As they discuss how the plans are coming along and the topic of giving toward it, their hypocrisy shines through everything they say...as always.

One couple.  About 8-9 mins.
Going Past Noon Again

Your Price: $15.00

In this sketch, Frank and Edith are in their car again hurrying out of the church parking lot.  The pastor has gone past noon again and they are concerned about the restaurants all being crowded now.  They really let their true colors shine this time as they talk about ways to get the pastor to shorten the service.  This leads Frank into a discussion on what Heaven will be like, with his warped and crazy ideas.  Then they arrive at their favorite restaurant, which is now very crowded.

One couple.  About 8-9 mins.
Love's Old Sweet Song

Your Price: $25.00

A fun youth drama (high school or young adult/college age) with music and costumes from different eras.  Perfect for a Valentine Banquet.  You will get the real nostalgia feel on this one along with some science fiction.  Abigail is a teenager who is frustrated with the dating scene and wants to know what true love is.  A time traveler shows up to take her back in time to see how her parents met and fell in love, also her grandparents and great grandparents.  This takes you to the 70's, the 40's and the 20's.  Add songs from those periods with some fun costumes and you and your audience should have a delightful time.  A spiritual message is woven into the story as Abigail watches her great grandparents get saved... which was when the Christian heritage began for her family.  This is when Abigail decides to focus on her relationship with God and let the love thing happen in His timing.   The gospel is shared in that scene and you will find period references and slang throughout the script.  You will need to find your own music.

Cast of 17 actors.  (7 males, 9 females, the time traveler can be either)   About 30 minutes of dialog (before songs are added).   Simple sets.
